But how do inspections work?
"Crea-SP Tax Agents, located in twelve Administrative Regions distributed throughout the State, conduct internal and external surveys, in addition to routine inspections on the streets of the cities where they operate. Crea-SP performs these routine inspections with its own fleet of vehicles, equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and data processing technology. They consist of visits by Tax Agents to construction sites, private companies or public agencies, to verify technical responsibility for services performed in the areas of Engineering, Agronomy and related areas. In addition to construction sites, Crea-SP conducts periodic visits to companies in the technology area themselves, generally to verify registration and technical responsibility documentation. According to the legislation, technical responsibility for construction sites and services in the aforementioned areas can only be attributed to qualified professionals registered with Crea-SP. When a construction site does not have a technical manager, or when the identified “technical manager” is a layperson, Crea-SP takes a more objective action: the Tax Agent, upon actually finding the irregularity, proceeds to the preparation of the Notification and, when necessary, the Violation Report. When this Report is not complied with within the requirements of the Law, Crea-SP generates an administrative process, according to the classification pertinent to the activity and/or irregularity found."
