What is Engineering?

Engineering is the field of action focused on offering practical solutions to concrete problems in society, whether they are social, economic, or structural problems.

What does an Engineer do? Thus, the role played by the professional graduated in Engineering is to develop planned solutions that are economically and technically viable for the problem in question. Therefore, it is necessary for the professional to deeply understand the theme of the problem to be solved. Thus, in addition to creating a solution for the problem, the professional graduated in Engineering must coordinate the development of the project, needing to have a notion of administration for project management.

Therefore, Engineering is a very comprehensive course, segmented into several branches, as I mention in the post referring to CREA-SP. Thus, Engineers play a central role in a country’s ability to develop and innovate, the biggest example of this is the Digital Race that has been underway in recent decades.

Considering that the Digital Race is the dispute of organizations and nations for the implementation of Industry 4.0 technology in everyone’s daily life and its innovation, it is concluded that this implementation and innovation would not be possible to be created and applied without the application of Engineering by professionals graduated in the area working on technological innovation projects.

Thus, it is understood that Engineers play a central role in humanity’s innovative capacity as a whole due to their ability to create and manage projects for technological improvements in accordance with market demand in order to contribute to the social, economic, and technological development of humanity.

What is an Engineer’s salary?

In Brazil, an engineer’s salary can vary depending on the professional branch, but, according to Law 4.950-A, of 1966, professionals in Engineering, Chemistry, Architecture, Agronomy, and Veterinary Medicine must earn their salaries following the following fixed table:

6-hour daily journey = 6 minimum wages

7-hour daily journey = 7.25 minimum wages

8-hour daily journey = 8.5 minimum wages

What are an Engineer’s obligations?

Every Engineering professional who decides to formally exercise technical activities as an Engineer must sign their annual CREA fee for their respective state.

Thank you for your attention and see you in the next post!
